About me

I am a student counsellor; I live in Nottingham and love long county walks with my Golden Retriever. I relax by picking up a book or attempting a DIY project. I am currently studying for my MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy. I have worked within the mental health field for several years, as part of a mental health charity. I embarked on my counselling career because I found that my greatest satisfaction is working one to one, support people through their issues and concerns. My previous and extensive training in mental health and well-being ensures that I have the skills to enable me to support individuals with a variety of different challenges and goals.

My therapeutic approach

I work in an integrative way when counselling, this involves drawing upon CBT, Person Centred and Attachment Theory, tailoring my approach to suit each individual client’s needs. My approach centres around creating a safe, accepting and non-judgemental environment where you can explore your concerns and find effective ways to deal with challenges. I can help you make sense of what you’re experiencing and support you with exploring thoughts and feelings, helping you gain the insight that you need to make positive and lasting changes. My expertise is working with clients experiencing body image issues, self-esteem and eating disorders as well as anxiety and depression. I believe that clients benefit from talking to a professional who can help them learn coping mechanisms to feel more in control of their life.

Qualifications and training

I am currently working to complete my MSc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of Derby. I also hold a BSc in Psychology and a MSc in Psychological Wellbeing and Mental Health.

Professional body membership

I'm a student member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and bound by their code of ethics for standard practice in counselling. I also work closely with my clinical supervisor at all times.
