Hello, I’m Lisa. I live in Derby and I love long country walks, practising yoga and meditation and going to garden centres to buy house plants at any given opportunity.
I did my BSc in Psychology and Counselling then went to complete my MSc Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling to become a qualified registered psychotherapist.
After having both short-term and long-term counselling for my own mental health challenges, it changed my life and I quickly knew this was my passion and I wanted to make a real difference. I confidently work with a wide range of mental health issues and co-morbidities, aiming to help manage and minimize any negative impact in my client’s experience.
Offering a safe, confidential environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours without judgment, with compassion and with respect. I have worked with individuals from different cultural backgrounds, different ages and I am committed to equal opportunities as I believe counselling and psychotherapy should be accessible to everyone.
I am passionate about psychotherapy and I undertake each session and each client professionally, ethically and with great care and commitment.
I work collaboratively and integratively throughout the journey with my clients, be that short term or long term, tailoring the work to my client’s specific needs.
My integrative framework is made up of Person Centred, Attachment Theory and CBT. I believe that an integrative framework enables me to exceed the limitations of one-trackt heories, acknowledging the complexities of the individuals story, helping guide the process of change in a way that is individual to the client.
I have a MSc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy and a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and Counselling.
I am also a Mental Health First Aider.
I am a registered member of the British Association of for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and bound by their code of ethics for standard practice in counselling.
I work closely with my clinical supervisor on a regular basis.
I am also an Accredited member of the National Counselling Society.
