About me

I am a student counsellor. I live in Swadlincote and love keeping fit and countryside walks as a way for me to unwind. I have a passion to read anything around my studies. I am currently studying for my MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy. I worked in education and after having my children I am embarked on my counselling career because I found that my greatest satisfaction working in education came from helping my students and colleagues to work through their problems and concerns. During my training I have gained a lot of experience working for the NHS mental health service. This has allowed me to help people with anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, abuse and bereavement. My extensive training in mental health and well-being ensures that I have the skills to enable me to support individuals with a variety of different challenges and goals.

My therapeutic approach

I work in an integrative way when counselling, this involves drawing upon more than one modality. The blending of relevant theory and interventions are applied which is formed to suit the needs of you as an individual. It is a safe space for you to feel safe enough to explore and express your needs. Integrative therapy is a collaborative process, and the relationship is central. Exploring further with an Attachment approach, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and a Person -Centred way. My expertise is working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, low mood, self-esteem, self-confidence, abortion, abuse and anger-management. I offer a safe space for you to be listened to, without judgement, to help you understand your thoughts and feelings. I can help you make sense of what you’re going through and support you with the difficulties you’re experiencing.
